What: Advanced Course in Cytoreductive Surgery for Ovarian Cancer and Peritoneal Surface Malignancies: Radical Pelvic and Upper Abdominal Procedure with Cadaver Dissection

About this Course

The thoroughness of cytoreductive surgery is the largest contributor to survival for patients with advanced ovarian and primary peritoneal carcinoma. This program is designed to provide information through formal lectures, panel discussions and cadaver dissection about clinical applications of advanced cytoreductive surgery for ovarian cancer and related gynecologic peritoneal surface malignancies.


Target Audience

This activity is designed for gynecologic oncology and surgical oncology faculty and trainees that desire to expand and/hone their skillset for the various facets of ovarian cancer surgery.


Learning Objectives

After completing the learning activity, the participant should be able to:

– Demonstrate a working and practical knowledge of upper abdominal and pelvic visceral and retroperitoneal anatomy.

– Formulate a strategic operative approach to advanced-stage ovarian cancer and implement appropriate patient selection criteria.

– Describe the critical steps in performing advanced cytoreductive surgical procedures.
