DESCRIPTION:The 7th Biennial Meeting of the Asian Society of Gynecologic Oncology (ASGO 2021) will be held on November 25th to 27th in Bangkok! ASGO was established by leaders of Japanese and Korean gynecologists in consideration of the need for an Asian regional society dedicated to gynecologic cancer\, and held its first meeting in Seoul in 2008. At present\, gynecological oncology societies from 11 countries and regions are participating\, and it has become a truly unified organization. While six biennial meetings and six international workshops have been held so far\, ASGO 2021 is the first biennial meeting to be held outside of Japan and Korea\, which makes it very significant. DESCRIPTION:Upcoming Free Webinar! \nIMPROVING ACCESS TO SCREENING TO PREVENT HPV-RELATED CANCER \nLive Event: Friday\, March 3rd\, 2023 at 16:00-17:00 CET (Geneva) \n  \nThe International Papillomavirus Society (IPVS) cordially invites you to participate in our live\, free webinar on Friday\, March 3rd\, 2023 to commemorate International HPV Awareness Day Campaign 2023 and to celebrate the mobilization of effort around the world to eliminate HPV and prevent HPV-cancer. \nJoin our panel of knowledge leaders from the world of clinical practice\, policy and patient advocacy to explore strategies and priorities to advance access to screening as part of a global strategy to prevent HPV-related cancer. \nEach year roughly 600\,000 people across the world are diagnosed with one of the six identified types of HPV-related cancer. Cervical cancer alone takes the lives of over 300\,000 women per year\, a statistic that is even more devastating because it is largely preventable. \nScreening is a critical cancer prevention tool and cervical screening is one of three pillars identified in the WHO global strategy to eliminate cervical cancer. However\, there are significant gaps in access to screening – both domestically and globally. Delivering effective cervical screening programs and crucially\, being able to follow up with effective preventive treatment\, requires a level of health system development that poses particular challenges to healthcare systems particularly in low-income communities. \nInnovative approaches and new technologies are emerging with the potential to reduce HPV-related cancer burden not just for cervical cancer\, but also anal and head and neck cancer. Capitalizing on the opportunities these provide\, in addition to concerted action to improve access to cervical screening will be key to reducing the global cancer burden and achieving global goals on non-communicable disease. \nThis panel will explore strategies to support equitable access to screening for cervical cancer and opportunities in relation screening to prevent other HPV related cancers. \nRegister Here
