SUMMARY:IGCS Survivor-Caregiver Summit
DESCRIPTION:Gynecologic Cancer Literacy\nWe’ll cover all the basics of gynecologic cancers: symptoms and risks\, early detection\, hereditary breast and ovarian cancer\, genetic testing\, and patient rights and options such as maintenance therapy. This session would not be complete without discussing clinical trials and cutting-edge research and findings. \nSurvivorship 101: Focus on Quality of Life\nLet’s talk Survivorship—quality of life and wellness from diagnosis onward—and get very personal! We’ll have frank exchanges about body image\, sexual health\, intimacy\, fertility\, nutrition\, and self-care as well as about work-life balance and other concerns specific to working women. And we’ll learn to document our individual journeys. \nThe Power of Patient Advocacy\nWhile having a primer on the Who\, What\, When\, Where\, Why\, and How of patient advocacy\, we’ll tap into its regional and global power and the benefits of creating and maintaining a strong\, inclusive Global Advocacy Network. And\, we’ll explore the tangible\, documented power of advocacy. \nOptional Concurrent Bonus Sessions\nFollowing the plenary Summit sessions\, two optional sessions will be available for Summit participants: (1) Treatment\, Clinical Trials\, Telemedicine/Telehealth in Backdrop of COVID-19 and (2) Patient-Centric Table Talk: Education & Exchange Session.

SUMMARY:IGCS 2020 Annual Global Meeting
DESCRIPTION:June 1\, 2020 \nDear Colleague\, \nLike many of you\, the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS) leadership has been monitoring COVID-19 over the last several months. We are aware of the challenging times and our primary concern is for the health and safety of those of you in the global gynecologic oncology community who attend the IGCS Annual Global Meeting and of course the patients you serve. \nThe IGCS Council has decided that the best course of action is to postpone our previous plans to gather in Rome and to conduct the 2020 IGCS Annual Global Meeting as a fully digital meeting. \nWe are now re-launching the IGCS Annual Global Meeting\, scheduled for September 10-13\, 2020 utilizing innovative “xDigital” technology designed by our new service provider\, iCrossing. \nDuring this challenging time\, we believe it is important now more than ever for health care professionals\, survivors\, and caregivers as well as our industry colleagues to come together on our new digital platform. We are committed to provide our members and delegates around the world with targeted educational programming\, the latest scientific research in gynecologic cancers\, and interactive networking opportunities. We have put a lot of thought and consideration into re-engineering IGCS 2020 with xDigital technology and are proud to bring you an enhanced experience that you can join from the comfort of your home or office. \nContributions of speakers\, authors\, and the work of the Scientific Program Committee will be realized in the xDigital environment\, and abstracts will be published in the digital congress portal as well as the International Journal of Gynecological Cancer. SUMMARY:IGCS 2019
DESCRIPTION:Following the tradition of previous meetings\, IGCS 2019 will provide you with the opportunity to learn about the latest clinical advances as well as international developments in research\, practice and treatment for of women with gynecological cancer. \nIn the Global Meeting\, IGCS has teamed up with national and regional societies\, such as FEBRASGO\, in offering a comprehensive program that covers the latest\, cutting edge information including innovative developments in surgery\, chemotherapy\, radiotherapy\, and pathology. This Meeting is multi-disciplinary and draws on expertise from throughout the world. 2019 will be the first annual meeting for the IGCS and with this change includes the goal\, as set by the IGCS Council\, to further internationalize the meeting and restructure the Scientific Program Committee. Regional chairs from the major areas of the world have been assigned and those chairs have created committees within their region. This restructuring allows for equal representation in the planning and execution of the meeting which in turn will allow greater opportunity to participate and share scientific contributions to the meeting. \nThis truly international committee of world-class experts in gynecological oncology is developing a scientific program that will cover a broad range of topics. We will focus on presenting state-of-the-art lectures and the research on relevant topics from all over the globe that will provide interactive sessions and the opportunity to exchange ideas. Topics related to low and middle income country problems will be addressed extensively including educational challenges and best utilization of limited resources. \nRio de Janeiro\, or simply Rio\, is one of the most beautiful cities in South America. Its stunning nature and the unique combination of mountain landscape and gorgeous beach front are what makes the city truly unique. It’s not surprising that part of Rio is protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The breath-taking scenery and natural beauty are not the only experiences the city has to offer.
