SUMMARY:IGCS 2020 Annual Global Meeting
DESCRIPTION:June 1\, 2020 \nDear Colleague\, \nLike many of you\, the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS) leadership has been monitoring COVID-19 over the last several months. We are aware of the challenging times and our primary concern is for the health and safety of those of you in the global gynecologic oncology community who attend the IGCS Annual Global Meeting and of course the patients you serve. \nThe IGCS Council has decided that the best course of action is to postpone our previous plans to gather in Rome and to conduct the 2020 IGCS Annual Global Meeting as a fully digital meeting. \nWe are now re-launching the IGCS Annual Global Meeting\, scheduled for September 10-13\, 2020 utilizing innovative “xDigital” technology designed by our new service provider\, iCrossing. \nDuring this challenging time\, we believe it is important now more than ever for health care professionals\, survivors\, and caregivers as well as our industry colleagues to come together on our new digital platform. We are committed to provide our members and delegates around the world with targeted educational programming\, the latest scientific research in gynecologic cancers\, and interactive networking opportunities. We have put a lot of thought and consideration into re-engineering IGCS 2020 with xDigital technology and are proud to bring you an enhanced experience that you can join from the comfort of your home or office. \nContributions of speakers\, authors\, and the work of the Scientific Program Committee will be realized in the xDigital environment\, and abstracts will be published in the digital congress portal as well as the International Journal of Gynecological Cancer. We are committed to delivering industry symposia at our continued high level of engagement and to finding innovative and unique ways for participants to engage with industry and IGCS in our digital exhibition hall. \nPlease visit the meeting website to learn more about the IGCS xDigital Annual Global Meeting. SUMMARY:IGCS Survivor-Caregiver Summit
DESCRIPTION:Gynecologic Cancer Literacy\nWe’ll cover all the basics of gynecologic cancers: symptoms and risks\, early detection\, hereditary breast and ovarian cancer\, genetic testing\, and patient rights and options such as maintenance therapy. This session would not be complete without discussing clinical trials and cutting-edge research and findings. \nSurvivorship 101: Focus on Quality of Life\nLet’s talk Survivorship—quality of life and wellness from diagnosis onward—and get very personal! We’ll have frank exchanges about body image\, sexual health\, intimacy\, fertility\, nutrition\, and self-care as well as about work-life balance and other concerns specific to working women. And we’ll learn to document our individual journeys. \nThe Power of Patient Advocacy\nWhile having a primer on the Who\, What\, When\, Where\, Why\, and How of patient advocacy\, we’ll tap into its regional and global power and the benefits of creating and maintaining a strong\, inclusive Global Advocacy Network. And\, we’ll explore the tangible\, documented power of advocacy. \nOptional Concurrent Bonus Sessions\nFollowing the plenary Summit sessions\, two optional sessions will be available for Summit participants: (1) Treatment\, Clinical Trials\, Telemedicine/Telehealth in Backdrop of COVID-19 and (2) Patient-Centric Table Talk: Education & Exchange Session.
