I pursued a career in gynecologic oncology because this field makes all the time I spend at work and all the early mornings worthwhile. Gynecologic Oncology brings together the routine of clinics and ward rounds with the challenges and excitement of surgery. It is a specialty that combines the roles of physician and surgeon, and at times allows an intimate glance into inspiring human journeys.
I trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the UK, and I am currently a Gynecologic Oncology fellow in Germany. I come from a multicultural background (Italo-Lebanese) and have always had a keen interest in strengthening international dialogue within the medical field. Consequently, I co-founded the Pan-Arabian Research Society of Gynecologic Oncology, a society aimed to improve the standards of care of women with gynaecological cancers in the Arab world through education and research projects.
