About Dr. Panici
Professor Pierluigi Benedetti Panici is an Emeritus Professor and has been full professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics since 1999. During his prestigious career, he has directed the Gynecology Departments of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the Biomedical Campus, the National Cancer Institute of Rome, the Regina Elena Institute, and the Department of Gynecology of Umberto I Hospital (Sapienza University of Rome). With great dedication and self-denial, he has made a major contribution to the field of Gynecologic Oncology.
During his academic career, he has been author of over 764 international publications, with an H-index of 68 (Source:Scopus), collaborating with over 1600 authors from the most prestigious international institutions. In particular, his studies on pelvic and paraaortic lymphadenectomy in gynecological tumors have radically changed the routine clinical practice worldwide, effectively rewriting current international guidelines.
He has contributed to significant innovations in the field of academic teaching and learning and was an undisputed master surgeon in the field of Gynecologic Oncology. Some of his trainees have reached important goals and top positions in various well-renowned institutions.
