Established in 1987 as a not-for-profit, the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS) unites interdisciplinary members of the gynecologic cancer care team including gynecologic oncologists, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, pathologists, allied health providers, and other clinicians and researchers who devote their professional lives to gynecologic oncology research and patient care.

The mission of the International Gynecologic Cancer Society is to enhance the care of those affected by gynecologic cancers worldwide through education and training and public awareness.

We achieve our mission through strategic collaborations with regional and international organizations, hosting and supporting scientific meetings, promoting research and publications, outreach, and other activities that:

  • Raise public awareness of the importance of early recognition and treatment of gynecologic cancers
  • Connect professionals interested in gynecologic cancers around the world
  • Support research to achieve optimal care of women with gynecologic malignancies
  • Provide mentorship, education and training worldwide

In this video, IGCS CEO Mary Eiken shares how the society is committed to fostering an inclusive and engaged global community. Through our Strategic Alliance Partner program, IGCS has expanded its reach both geographically and across multidisciplinary specialties, uniting members under a shared mission to improve gynecologic cancer care worldwide.

Mary highlights how enhancing the member experience is one of our key strategic pillars — from improving access and communication through tools like Google Translate (look to the top left of your screen for language selections), to offering impactful volunteer opportunities and delivering high-quality professional education.
