Welcome Ukrainian Society of Gynecologic Oncology
We are delighted to announce that the Ukrainian Society of Gynecologic Oncology has joined the IGCS Strategic Alliance Partner Program. Through this alliance, 30 Ukrainian gynecologic cancer specialists now benefit from dual membership, gaining support from their regional society as well as access to the vast resources and expertise of the international gynecologic cancer community. The Ukrainian Society of Gynecologic Oncology was established in 1998 with the purpose to unite all specialists in the country and provide them with educational opportunities to facilitate even higher quality gynecologic cancer care to patients. The decision to join the IGCS alliance was influenced by the success of joint educational programs conducted by IGCS and the American Eurasian Cancer Alliance (AECA) in the region. The leaders of the Ukrainian Society recognized the transformative potential of international collaboration in elevating gynecologic cancer care in Ukraine. According to GLOBOCAN 2022 data (gco.iarc.fr), uterine, cervical, and ovarian cancer are the 4th, 5th, and 6th most common cancers in the country with 18,691 Ukrainian women reportedly diagnosed with gynecologic cancer in 2022. Throughout the Month of January, we observe Cervical Cancer Awareness Month (CCAM) as a time to raise awareness of the problem, highlight our offerings contributing to the solution, and magnify our support of the World Health Organization (WHO) global strategy to eliminate cervical cancer as a public health problem.
Its membership renewal season and the perfect time to join IGCS if you are not currently a member. All dues payments are applied to the 2024 membership term. IGCS provides year-round education, mentorship and training opportunities, and most recently, advocacy and outreach programming in support of our mission.
