IGCS Welcomes the International Society of Gynecological Pathologists to the Strategic Alliance Partnership
It is our pleasure to announce that the International Society of Gynecological Pathologists (ISGyP) has joined the IGCS Strategic Alliance Partner Program bringing over 350 new members to the IGCS.
Conversations between our two Societies have taken place over the last 12-14 months initiated by Dr. Robert Soslow, the pathology representative to IGCS Council. Thank you, Rob, for facilitating this outstanding opportunity.
Pathology is the cornerstone of the care of our patients and IGCS looks forward to working with ISGyP to increase the collaboration between pathologists and multidisciplinary cancer teams. By working together, we have the potential to make great advances in improving outcomes for women affected by gynecological cancer. We will be reaching out to our new pathology members to involve them in a number of educational initiatives to benefit all IGCS members as we continue to expand our international footprint.
ISGyP was founded in 1976 to serve as a global community of pathologists and other physicians with a common interest in the pathology of the female reproductive system. The modern pathologist is an integral part of all cancer units with experience not only in morphology but also immunohistochemistry and molecular biology, areas that are changing constantly and which all oncologists need guidance to effectively manage their patients.
By sharing information and collaborating to solve diagnostic problems, we can increase the expertise of everyone involved in the treatment of women’s cancer.
We look forward to the opportunities this new partnership brings to both of our international societies and most importantly to women under our care.
Sincerely,
Michael Quinn, AM, MGO IGCS President |
Blake Gilks, MD ISGyP President |
