IGCS has purposefully developed an inclusive membership framework that encourages interaction and growth across diverse social, political, and health care systems. A large part of our membership is comprised of Strategic Alliance Partners - regional and international groups who represent the diversity of clinicians and researchers dedicated to caring for women affected by gynecologic cancers.

As part of the IGCS alliance, regional organizations have joined forces with other alliance groups and members across the globe, increasing our ability to share resources and find solutions to issues facing gynecologic cancer patients and professionals around the world.

IGCS is grateful for our strong Strategic Alliance Partnerships that bring us one step closer to our goal of achieving global heath equity.

This month's Strategic Alliance Partnership focus is INASGO, a professional organization of gynecologic oncologists in Indonesia. IGCS spoke with the current INASGO president, Dr. Brahmana Askandar, and former INASGO General Secretary, Prof. Gatot Purwoto, and asked a few questions to better explain their Strategic Alliance Partnership with IGCS.

How long has INASGO been an IGCS Strategic Alliance Partner?
Four years. INASGO became an IGCS Strategic Alliance Partner in 2018 with the goal of identifying ways to work together to improve the care of Indonesian women with gynecologic malignancies. There has been a successful partnership ever since.

How many members take part in the INASGO Strategic Alliance Partnership?
The INASGO Strategic Alliance Partnership is represented by 146 members. This includes 126 gynecologic oncologists and 20 fellows in training.

What is the greatest impact of being an IGCS Strategic Alliance Partner?
The greatest impact of being an IGCS Strategic Alliance Partner has been the opportunity to unite with IGCS’s global community of healthcare professionals in gynecologic oncology. We are currently in the process of establishing an IGCS ECHO Tumor Board in the region and are extremely pleased for this opportunity to provide INASGO members with quality gynecologic oncology training from global experts in this field. As our partnership with the IGCS continues to foster learning and collaboration, we look forward to keep working together to fight gynecologic cancers through training, education, and public awareness.

What is the most considerable benefit to the INASGO members by being an IGCS Strategic Alliance Partner?
The educational opportunities IGCS provides are unparalleled. INASGO members have access to benefits such as the IGCS online member Education Portal, the Early Career Research & Publications Network, AAGL’s SurgeryU video library, the IGCS Annual Global Meeting, and the online member community Social Link. Our Strategic Alliance Partnership with IGCS has and continues to serve the gynecologic oncologists in Indonesia, directly supporting our goal to enhance the care and treatment outcomes of women afflicted with gynecologic cancer.
