It says it will prioritize women and girls, families, and the elderly.

CARITAS

Caritas Ukraine work first began in 1992, after Ukraine declared independence. It was set up by local Greek Catholic communities to distribute humanitarian assistance to poor families. However, the needs of society forced Caritas’ activity in Ukraine to expand which led to the formation of the international charitable foundation Caritas Ukraine in 1994. Today, it works to coordinate the efforts of charitable organizations run by local Ukrainian Greek Catholic churches and to build cooperation with foreign Caritas chapters. As a result of the agency’s efforts, the current network of local charitable organization’s has developed and expanded, and cooperation with foreign partners continues to grow.

  • Collaborate with select charitable organizations who are already on the ground in Ukraine and surrounding countries
  • Donation through UMANA Foundation

"Heavy weapons fire along the line of contact has already damaged critical water infrastructure and education facilities in recent days," said UNICEF Executive Director Catherine M. Russell in a statement.

UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR)

The international organization aims to provide emergency assistance to families in Ukraine — providing aid such as cash assistance and opportunities for resettlement in the U.S. "UNHCR is working with the authorities, UN and other partners in Ukraine and is ready to provide humanitarian assistance wherever necessary and possible.
