Program Overview

The International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS), in collaboration with Drs. Alexander Melamed and J. Alejandro Rauh-Hain, offers a two-year, fully virtual postdoctoral research fellowship (‘researchship’) focused on applying advanced statistical methods to observational oncology data. This program is designed to cultivate high-impact research, improve clinical insights, and advance the global capacity for gynecologic oncology research.

Program Objectives

Upon completion of the researchship, the selected research fellow will:

  • Apply advanced statistical techniques to complex observational datasets.
  • Independently produce high-quality oncology research.
  • Submit impactful manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication.
  • Receive an IGCS Certificate of Completion to strengthen academic credentials and visibility.

Program Format & Structure

Fully virtual
Weekly online research meetings are the centerpiece of the program, where fellows present concepts, data analysis, and draft work, receiving guidance from mentors and peers.

Mentorship
One-on-one academic support from lead investigators, plus access to an experienced analyst.

Fellowship Capacity
Only one fellow selected every two years ensures depth, individual mentorship, and dedicated support.

In-Person Opportunities
The fellow is expected to meet the investigators in-person during the fellowship duration—ideally at the IGCS Annual Meeting and for collaborative visits in Houston or Boston.

The Application Deadline was January 30, 2026.
