Pledge Today for a Better Tomorrow.

Let's unite to put the world on a path where everyone who may be affected by uterine cancer has access to the knowledge, resources, and treatments they need. Pledge your support and commit to action.

This pledge is based on the IGCS-IGCAN Consensus Statement and Global Call to Action to Reduce Disparities in Uterine Cancer.

Uterine cancer affects women and people with wombs of all backgrounds. However, differences in detection and treatment often depend on factors such as race, ethnicity, income, geographic location, and access to care. The IGCS and advocacy partners throughout the International Gynecologic Cancer Advocacy Network have made the commitment to awareness and advocacy.

Improving uterine cancer care and strengthening patient engagement requires a united effort from healthcare professionals, policymakers, patients, advocates, and supporters.

1.

I pledge to support and contribute to efforts that raise public awareness and understanding about uterine cancer while combatting misinformation and stigma— including awareness about prevention strategies, risk factors, signs and symptoms, and encouraging women to seek medical advice if they are experiencing symptoms of concern.

2.

I pledge to raise awareness, advocate for and support efforts that reduce barriers to care, lead to early detection and make timely uterine cancer diagnosis more accessible, culturally sensitive, and free from stigma, while also advocating for preventive measures that promote overall health.

3.

I pledge to advocate for and contribute to initiatives that advance equitable access to high-quality care, including trained specialists, advanced diagnostics, and therapies, so that every woman has the best possible chance at survival.

4.

I pledge to support survivorship programs and policies that provide care, peer support, and resources to people navigating life during and after uterine cancer treatment.

5.

I pledge to advocate for and support efforts for more inclusive research and investment in studies that address disparities in uterine cancer, to work towards a future where all patient populations are represented in the search for better treatments and outcomes.

We believe in collective action to support the following principles:

Raise Awareness

Women and people with wombs worldwide need better awareness , especially in underserved communities.
Direct engagement can inform them of risks and symptoms,
empowering them to seek medical advice when needed.

Overcome Barriers to Diagnosis

Care must be accessible, culturally sensitive, and tailored to diverse needs. Addressing social determinants, supporting prevention, and advocating policy changes are key to reducing uterine cancer. The goals is to provide resources, and stigma-free access to care.

Improve Access to Treatment

Everyone deserves access to the standard of care for better uterine cancer outcomes, including: Trained gynecologic cancer surgeons, Risk prediction models with skilled professionals, Advanced radiation therapy, Molecular testing for treatment and family risk assessment, Systemic therapies like chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, and immunotherapy, Fertility-preserving options when appropriate

Support Survivors

Survivorship programs and
peer support groups
must be made
widely available
to care for patients
after diagnosis
and treatment.

Increase Diversity in Clinical Research

More work must be done to understand what drives uterine cancer disparities in affected patient groups, such as by recruiting racially and ethnically diverse patients to participate in clinical research. Investment should also be made into risk-reducing programs and treatments.
