The IGCS Early Career Network (ECN) is proud to announce an emerging collaboration with the Gynecologic Cancer InterGroup (GCIG) to advance pragmatic clinical trials with the potential to build the next generation of global oncology leaders.

Pragmatic research initiatives bring fresh perspectives, resource adaptability, and the opportunity to use innovative trial designs reflecting diverse real-world practice, providing collaborative opportunities for contributors from the IGCS Early Career Network.

By partnering with GCIG, we have a more inclusive global representation, which will enhance knowledge exchange, foster mentorship, and expand access to diverse patient populations and care settings—critical elements for the success and generalizability of pragmatic trials.

Educational Opportunities
The leadership of the ECN is establishing a structured educational series as a key step in moving forward with pragmatic research.

Pragmatic Trial Research Opportunity

the IGCS Early Career Workshop is accepting proposals to support small research initiatives, known as pragmatic trials, aimed to improving the outcomes for women with gynecologic cancers.

Pragmatic trials are built to reflect real-world care by including more diverse patient populations, using streamlined protocols, and producing findings that are broadly applicable. Pragmatic trials should be cost efficient, widely accepted, and globally applicable.

For early career researchers, this represents a significant opportunity to gain international visibility, potential to secure seed funding for innovative ideas, build collaborative research networks, and develop experience in clinical trial design and presentation while advancing research that can directly impact patient care worldwide.

Selected participants will have the opportunity to pitch their work before global IGCS and GCIG leaders at the IGCS Early Career Workshop in Montreal, Canada on September 30. Up to three proposals will each be awarded $5,000 USD.
