We are pleased to welcome the Association of Gynecologic Oncologists of India (AGOI) as the newest member of the IGCS Strategic Alliance Partner Program.

The Association of Gynecologic Oncologists of India (AGOI) was formed in 1991 as a multidisciplinary professional group working to improve early detection and appropriate treatment of gynecologic malignancies. AGOI holds an annual conference to facilitate the exchange of ideas and encourage young gynecologists to take up this specialty.

Dr. Jita Parija, President of AGOI, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, saying, “By joining IGCS as a Strategic Alliance Partner, AGOI strengthens its global engagement, expanding opportunities for collaboration, education, and mentorship. Our association continues to grow in numbers and in the resources and programs we provide to our members. As we work to make progress for our country, having the added support of our international colleagues will be of great value.”

India, one of the most densely populated countries in the world, faces a significant burden of gynecologic cancers. With high rates of cervical and ovarian cancer, the need for enhanced prevention, early detection, and specialized treatment is critical. AGOI has been at the forefront of transformative initiatives in gynecologic oncology, from groundbreaking research to progressive policies aimed at cervical cancer elimination. I had the privilege of witnessing this firsthand at the AGOI Annual Conference this past December, where the dedication of clinicians, researchers, and public health leaders to improving care was truly inspiring.

IGCS President, Prof. Greta Dreyer, shared her enthusiasm about this collaboration, stating, “AGOI’s mission aligns seamlessly with IGCS’s strategic pillars—mentorship and training, global collaboration, and advocacy for women’s health. This highly valued partnership will enhance our collective ability to provide members' benefits and to be globally relevant and representative. Sharing networks, membership, and insights will augment our combined capability to effect meaningful universal change."

Dr. Seema Singhal, IGCS Board Member Representative for Asia, Oceania, and the Pacific, echoed this sentiment, stating, “This partnership with IGCS further solidifies our shared vision of elevating cancer care standards. By combining AGOI’s local expertise and ambition with IGCS’s global resources, we can drive substantial progress in patient outcomes, education, and advocacy—not just in India, but worldwide.”

We look forward to a strong and impactful collaboration with AGOI, united in our mission to improve gynecologic cancer care worldwide.

Sincerely,

Mary Eiken, MS
