IGCS Special Interest Networks build on the IGCS global community by bringing together members with shared professional interests, regional ties, or areas of expertise. These networks are designed not only for members seeking to expand their knowledge and advance their careers, but also for established clinicians who are eager to give back—sharing their expertise, mentoring others, and strengthening the field worldwide.
Together, members foster deeper engagement through:
- Knowledge sharing and the exchange of best practices across regions and resource settings
- Mentorship and networking
- Professional development opportunities

Network Engagement Opportunities
WhatsApp Groups
Network members will communicate with each other through the use of the mobile app, WhatsApp. Each group will be assigned moderators to help field questions and facilitate discussion.
Within these groups, members can ask questions, share insights, and exchange resources in an open, supportive environment. The discussions may include clinical case reviews on relevant topics, providing mentorship opportunities for experienced leaders while helping early-career professionals and those in low-resource settings build clinical confidence.
Face-to-Face Gatherings
IGCS will schedule dedicated time for members of the special interest networks to meet up during the Annual Global Meeting and may provide opportunities for virtual meet ups throughout the year.
Future Plans Forthcoming
These Special Interest Networks are a new offering from IGCS, designed to strengthen connections and collaboration within our membership. At this stage, we are gauging interest and engagement through the WhatsApp groups. The activity and feedback gathered from these conversations will help guide future developments, with the potential to expand into additional resources and tools that further support learning, knowledge-sharing, and professional growth.
