IGCS-IGCAN Gynecologic Cancer Survivorship Survey illuminates gaps and opportunities for improvement in cancer care

On May 25, 2023, the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS) and International Gynecologic Cancer Advocacy Network (IGCAN) hosted a virtual Patient Perspectives Roundtable to share the results of the IGCS-IGCAN Gynecologic Cancer Survivorship Care Survey which was conducted December 2022-April 2023.

Over 400 gynecologic cancer survivors worldwide completed the survey which included questions to help us understand their journey with the intention to develop robust and effective gynecologic cancer survivorship care plans.

Radiation Oncologist, Dr. Abhishek Shankar (India), Medical Oncologist, Dr. Rosalind Glasspool (UK), and Gynecologic Oncologist, Dr. Daniela Luvero (Italy) hosted the virtual roundtable and provided a summary of the survey data. They were joined by ovarian cancer survivors, Manisha Koirala (India) and Eva-Maria Strömsholm (Finland). Manisha and Eva-Maria provided their insights on survivorship care and the supportive needs of cancer patient-survivors.
