Dr. René Pareja Named Editor-in-Chief of the IJGC

Dr. René Pareja Named Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Gynecological Cancer (IJGC) The International Journal of Gynecological Cancer (IJGC)—the official scientific journal of the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS) and the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO)—is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. René Pareja as its next Editor-in-Chief. A truly international publication, IJGC serves as a global platform for advancing research, education, and clinical practice in gynecologic oncology. Dr. Pareja was selected following an international search led jointly by IGCS and ESGO, reflecting the journal’s shared governance and global scope. Dr. Pareja, a gynecologic oncologist based in Colombia, practices at the Astorga Oncology Clinic in Medellín and the National Cancer Institute in Bogotá. He has served as Associate Editor of IJGC for the past seven years, contributing to the journal’s scientific rigor, peer-review standards, and expanding global reach. He has authored more than 160 peer-reviewed publications and 10 book chapters and is an active reviewer for more than 20 Web of Science–indexed journals, supporting the advancement of high-quality scientific evidence worldwide. As Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Pareja will work closely with both IGCS and ESGO to further strengthen IJGC’s position as a leading international journal in gynecologic oncology—one that reflects the diversity of the global community it serves.
