About the ECN

• The IGCS Early Career Network (ECN) is a global community designed to support professionals in the early stages of their careers in gynecologic oncology and related disciplines.
• As part of the International Gynecologic Cancer Society, the ECN connects members across countries, specialties, and professional backgrounds, creating opportunities to learn from one another and engage with the broader international gynecologic cancer community.
• The ECN provides opportunities for members to:
  • Build relationships with early career colleagues around the world
  • Connect with established leaders and experts within IGCS
  • Participate in educational and professional development opportunities
  • Engage in collaborative projects and initiatives
  • Develop leadership skills and become more involved within IGCS

Mission & Strategic Pillars

• Mission: To support, advance, and promote the needs of early career professionals and to prepare them to be future leaders in gynecologic cancer care.
• Strategic Priorities: 
  • Mentoring: Pairing young professionals with seasoned mentors to provide guidance, career advice, and professional support. 
  • Education: Developing webinars, workshops, and e-learning modules tailored to early-career professionals' needs and in-person session at the annual meetings.
  • Strong professional network: Through networking events IGCS fosters collaboration and shared knowledge within the community and helps young professionals build new, valuable relationships.

Leadership & Governance

• The Role of the ECN Executive Committee: 
  • The Early Career Executive Committee plays a central role in shaping the future of the IGCS Early Career Network. These elected leaders help define priorities, guide strategy, and ensure the Network continues to reflect the needs and interests of early-career members worldwide. 
  • The Early Career Network is supported by dedicated committees led by early-career members, with focus areas including education, networking and engagement, advocacy, and research. Together, these committees provide opportunities for members to take an active role in advancing ECN initiatives, developing programs, and strengthening the global early-career community.
