IGCS Early Career Professionals Network

Mission
The mission of the Early Career Network (ECN) is to support, advance, and promote the needs of early career professionals and to prepare them to be future leaders in gynecologic cancer care.

Who can join the ECN?
In addition to the requirements for membership listed in the IGCS bylaws, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • All IGCS members (all specialties) under age 40 or within the first 5 years of practice.
  • Time limit if age greater than 40 is 5 years.

A person’s membership of the Early Career Network shall automatically cease if they cease to be a member of the IGCS.

Strategic Priorities

These are the core areas where IGCS focuses its efforts to achieve its mission and deliver value to the future leaders. The priorities include:

  • Mentoring: Pairing young professionals with seasoned mentors to provide guidance, career advice, and professional support.
  • Education: Developing webinars, workshops, and e-learning modules tailored to early-career professionals' needs and in-person session at the annual meetings.
  • Strong professional network: Through networking events IGCS fosters collaboration and shared knowledge within the community and helps young professionals build new, valuable relationships.

How to Join?

  1. Log in to your IGCS Member Account
  2. Click on the Networks tab.
  3. Select Early Career Professionals Network, and click the Join group button.

Please be sure your graduation year is filled out in your IGCS Member profile as this will determine your eligibility for the group.

Join us on WhatsApp
The Early Career Professionals Network WhatsApp group allows you to increase your connections with members from around the world. Network members share content, recent studies, information about upcoming events, opportunities within the field of gynecologic cancer care. Moderators and other network members can answer any questions you may have in the WhatsApp group as well. The group is moderated by the Early Career Junior Faculty Mentors; however, anyone is welcome to post.

Advisory Board

To provide strategic guidance and support The Early Career Professionals Network, an Advisory Board has been established.

Governance and Elections 2026

Starting in 2026, The Early Career Professionals Network will have its own leadership. At the heart of this new governance model is the Early Career Executive Committee, which will be composed entirely of Early Career Network members, elected by their peers.

The committee will include three officer positions:

  • President (The ECN President will serve as an ex-officio voting member of the IGCS Board of Directors) 
  • President-Elect
  • Secretary/Treasurer

Nominations will open February 9, 2026.
