Objective: For doctors interested in enhancing decision-making for the benefit of their patients, this course will provide an opportunity to learn about current and future trends in the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for patients with breast cancer.

Course description: Learn about the latest innovations in the knowledge and characteristics of breast cancer, detection, prevention, comprehensive management, surgery options, and personalized medicine.

Justification: Breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer among women in Latin America (and many parts of the world) and mainly affects patients of reproductive age. This considerably affects family life and society itself. Expert multidisciplinary teams are required to effectively manage breast disease and to improve survival and quality of life.

Facing the difficult journey through breast cancer does not end with diagnosis, surgery or radiation therapy – these treatments are only the beginning. This program will cover the most up-to-date clinical education regarding the management of breast disease and include information regarding the importance of all ongoing care, including survival programs. Expert multidisciplinary professors practicing in Latin America who are trained in breast surgery, medical oncology, pathology and oncological radiology will speak about innovations, challenges. and management controversies in breast cancer care throughout the entire patient journey.
