IGCS Members and Friends,
The moment we have been waiting for has arrived.
IGCS is proud to be featured in the second installment of the Union for International Cancer Control Rewriting Cancer Series, produced for them by BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions. The series showcases organizations around the world that are transforming cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care through innovation and collaboration.
Our film highlights the impact of the IGCS Gynecologic Oncology Global Fellowship Program through the story of Dr. Nanise Sikiti, the first Fijian formally trained as a gynecologic oncologist in Fiji. Together with mentor Dr. Ai Ling Tan and current fellow Dr. Unaisi Tabua, her journey demonstrates the power of investing in local expertise to expand access to care, strengthen health systems, and develop future leaders.
While filmed in Fiji, this story represents the broader impact of the IGCS Fellowship Program and the global community of fellows, mentors, local supervisors, volunteers, and supporters advancing sustainable gynecologic cancer care worldwide.
This series launch marks the beginning of the journey for our film. In the coming weeks, IGCS will host the film on our own platforms and provide members and partners with additional resources and opportunities to share and amplify the impact of our work together.
For now, we invite you to explore the full Rewriting Cancer series, celebrate this moment, and take pride in the extraordinary community you have helped build—and the impact it is having around the world.
With gratitude,

Mary Eiken, MS
CEO, International Gynecologic Cancer Society
