Impact of Uterine Cancer Awareness Month

June 2024 marked year two of the Uterine Cancer Awareness Month global initiative, led by the IGCS and partners of the International Gynecologic Cancer Advocacy Network. Here’s a look at the impact of this year’s IGCS-IGCAN awareness campaign activities.

These numbers coupled with the countless conversations IGCS staff and leaders have engaged in with our colleagues, advocates, patient-survivors, and patient’s families send a clear message. Support is growing, and awareness is spreading. We are seeing increased support for patients, survivors, advocates, and all those who are now or may someday be affected by a uterine cancer diagnosis.

We are incredibly grateful to all those who participated in the campaign in your unique way – some hosted educational and/or wellness events, others took to social media, others organized locally within their communities. We are already preparing for 2025!! Please make sure to join us in June! Campaign materials can be found at igcs.org/ucam

The Global Call to Action Remains

We are beginning to make plans around the global call to action with the goal to provide specific recommendations and actions to mobilize our communities. We want to coordinate our efforts in a unified manner to increase our efficacy and collective impact. More to come as we seek your feedback. We move forward with the hope that our collective action will lead to a world where the disease is either prevented, detected early, or cured. All women deserve equal access to quality gynecologic cancer care.

Thank you all for being a part of our global advocacy community. Together, we can do more!
