Position Paper: Spotlight on Uterine Cancer

Uterine cancer is the second most common gynecological cancer globally, but often it is missing from national cancer plans and global health priorities. Without political attention, there is no accountability, no funding, and no progress. The position paper on uterine cancer “Spotlight on uterine cancer: Shaping access to equitable and high-quality care”, which IGCS co-authored with like-minded organizations from around the world, including AstraZeneca, is a call to governments and policymakers everywhere: the time to act is now. Launched at the 2025 Concordia Annual Summit, held alongside the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Meeting, the paper sets out clear, actionable steps to change the trajectory of uterine cancer. It calls for governments and health systems to integrate uterine cancer into national health strategies, invest in early detection so more women are diagnosed in time, and guarantee equitable access to care options and innovation. These are practical changes that can save lives, reduce disparities, and bring uterine cancer out of the shadows. We urge policymakers to listen, to act, and to put uterine cancer where it belongs – on the global health agenda. Radiation Oncology Consortium

IGCS has joined a consortium with several specialized organizations to formalize and strengthen radiotherapy education and training for gynecologic radiation oncology specialists in LMICs. The consortium is currently developing criteria for site selection to ensure participants have the facilities necessary to implement radiotherapy techniques safely and consistently.

Cervical Cancer Elimination Survey - Latin America

We are currently conducting a study collecting data from gynecologic cancer care specialists practicing in Latin America and the Caribbean. The goal of this study is to assess the current state and progress of the region working towards the global strategy to eliminate cervical cancer as a public health problem.

IGCS and the GOG Foundation Partner for Education

The GOG Foundation, Inc. (GOG) and IGCS are pleased to announce a strategic partnership whereby the GOG will be the preferred educational provider for Industry Supported Symposia (ISS) starting at the 2023 IGCS Global Annual Meeting in Seoul.
