The University of Hong Kong - Shenzhen Hospital (HKU-SZH)
The University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital (HKU-SZH) was established in July 1, 2012, and the Gynecologic Oncology team was set up in Jan 1,2014. We had joined both the Hong Kong College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists since Jan 1, 2019 and IGCS training programmes since Jan 1, 2021. Under the guidance of Prof. Hextan Ngan, Dr. Ka Yu Tse and Dr. Li Zhang, three fellows, Dr. Xian Li, Dr. Yaokai Wang and Dr. Bei Liu, had successfully completed their training. Dr. Min Lin is our fourth fellow. All the fellows had opportunities to attach in Queen May Hospital (Hong Kong) for six months, and either Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Centre (Guangzhou) or Fudan University (Shanghai) for another six months.
As a relatively new hospital, we introduced oncological services steps by steps, with the support of multidisciplinary teams including the nurses, pathologists, radiologists, clinical oncologists, surgeons and physicians. We have regular pre-operative round, tumor board, case discussion/journal club, annual scientific symposium, and patients' supporting group. Currently, HKU-SZH is one of the top hospitals in Guangdong Province, and we organise laparoscopy and colposcopy workshops for doctors in Shenzhen.
